Week 7 with the 4's: Preschool, Pumpkin Patch, Play, Oh My!

Week 7 With the 4's.....Fun Wacky Week!

This week was a little different, but so fun. I am glad we have the flexibility to adjust the scheduled based on the needs of the kids and the mommies. We began the week on Tuesday with preschool at my house. We read this darling book , The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash, thanks Kelda. The book is all about cause and effect and the kids really got into it. Then we created charts, where I had them draw one cause from the book, and based on what happened they had to draw the effect. It was hard for them to draw, but they had more fun explaining it to me.

Jack is working on drawing his cause/effect chart.

Continuing with math, I gave each student a quarter, dime, nickel, and penny. We talked about the value of each coin and where they should place them on the chart. (Sorry the pic is upside-down) We talked about which one is most, least, etc. Then we had fun coin rubbing with a crayon and seeing the image.

Noah is placing the correct coin on the chart.
Addison did really well rubbing her coin with a crayon.

The last activity we did was so fun. We read the story when Jesus washed his disciples feet. So I talked to the kids about serving others, helping others out, and why this is important. Each child got to wash their friends feet. They had so much fun with this, and were so sincere about it, that they each did it twice! And yes, they even asked to wash my feet too, sweet kids!

Noah is washing Jack's feet.

Prayer time and lunch!
On Thursday, we went to Gilcrease Farm, where the kids got to pick their own pumpkins. We had about 6 kids with us....what was funny, was the wagon was filled with about 19 pumpkins!

Doc and Juliette taking a stroll in the wagon.

Jack found a good one!

Check out all the pumpkins they picked!

Friday of the wacky week finished with a field day. We had some new friends join us. Aiden, Colton, Lily, and Rachel, glad we could share in this fun day with you.  We began the day with an obstacle course, the kids were really excited to begin. They had to crawl through a tunnel, run through some cones, and then throw balls into a net.

Lily began and did a great job!

Hole in One Lily!

Here comes Addison through the tunnel.

Oh Bubba Doc had fun playing with the silly string!

Jack enjoyed throwing the balls.
Look at sweet Aiden!

Parachute Anyone! I brought out the parachute and the 2's have way more fun rolling around on it. But we put the giant blue ball and worked on keeping the ball on the parachute.

The parachute worked better when the mom's used it!

Duck Duck Goose! Fun but challenging to teach the kids, we tried.

We finished the day with snack time and gatorade for all the hard work! Good job!
