"I can't believe I am a mom." I often think these words to myself. My whole life I knew I was called to motherhood and the days are finally here! Little did I know I would be raising my two girls Annabelle (3) and Eleanor (1) in Sin City. We've been in Las Vegas since March 2012. We didn't think we would love it here as much as we do. In addition to being a mother, I am the wife of a wonderful, godly man named Skyler, who is the Youth Pastor at Foothills Baptist Church. I love serving in the preschool and music ministry at our church. I also keep myself busy by selling Mary Kay. I love that I can incorporate my children in whatever I am doing.

I'm a recent Las Vegas transplant with Pacific Northwest roots. After a career in corporate PR, marketing and crisis communications I'm incredibly blessed to be doing my dream job: hanging out with my kids, Jack (3) and Gus (4 months). I grew up in Eugene, Ore. which has deeply influenced my affinity for real food and the great outdoors. I'm on a constant treasure hunt for both of these things amidst the dusty Vegas glitz. I hope this blog can help moms like me who are striving to grow good, happy humans, even if the garden is Sin City.

I am a wife of 7 years and a mom to two littles (#3 is on the way!). Addison is three and Doc is one (he's on my back in this picture!). I am originally from Massachusetts, but I spent 10 years in Southern California before moving to Las Vegas. I've made it my personal mission to figure out how to grow food in the desert (visit my other blog Homespun Sprout for more about that...) I am an avid reader and crafter. There is always some kind of project going on around here. I am SO blessed to be a stay-at-home mommy. If someone had told me 10 years ago that I would be living in Vegas homeschooling my children, I would have laughed out loud. But here we are!

The JOY of being a mom! The Lord has truly blessed Aaron and I with such bundles of cuteness. Noah is three and Juliette is one and each day they fill my life with laughter, a little bit of chasing, and some tears....mostly from me. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be home with my kids to watch them learn, grow, and love. Aaron and I have been married for 8 years and we still think the Lord is very humorous for bringing us to Las Vegas. But look at what HE has given us! We are blessed with a supportive family in Colorado and California, AND an amazing group of friends here in Vegas, that we consider our family. I love the Lord Jesus Christ, my family, and my new passion....hot yoga! (Especially in the desert!)
"Be joyful always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thes. 5:16-18

My friend and I are two more Las Vegas moms doing the 2-year-old curriculum with ABC Jesus Loves Me (and will continue next year). I stumbled upon your sight and am excited to know there are other locals using this resource. Looking forward to your posts for ideas, etc. -Kelly
ReplyDeleteDo you guys accept new moms and kiddos to the group? I'm a Vegas mom. I have 2 boys, Isaac who is 3 and Eli who is 14 mos (and a little lady on the way). I'm starting to homeschool Isaac, well I say that loosely. We do a lot of Montessori type activities for the time being. I refer to our style as tot-school. Anyways, I have been wanting to get him involved in a group or co-op of some kind and I stumbled upon your blog through the Pink Peas website. I would love to join you all. You can email me jessibridges[at]gmailDOTcom or my contact info is also linked to my blogger profile or on my blog.
